So I bought a regulator/rectifier from 4into1 for my '72 CB350 and when I plugged it up I noticed that the wire colors do not match up to the wiring harness. The green from the regulator/rectifier lines up to the red wire?

I can only think of two possibilities: The wires came reversed and I will need to switch them back or this may be a more of universal regulator/rectifier so the colors don't really matter.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I can't imagine that the colors don't matter, and I don't have any personal experience with that rec/reg unit from 4into1 but it certainly doesn't look correct. Did it come with any schematic explaining the wire colors of the unit? I just checked what I think is the unit you have at 4into1 and wondered if you saw this page of instructions (I'm guessing it might not have come with a printed version of them since they make this available online). It defines green from the unit as being what we expect it to be, chassis ground.

Thank you for the link and thanks for recommending to contact them!

Yeah, after reading on their site it definitely seems like they sent it with the wires crossed. I will reach out to see if I can get a solid answer

This is why we recommend the Sparck Moto unit, it's a little bit more than the one you bought but it comes correctly wired for the bike and the owner, also a VHT member (Sonreir), gives great support for his products.

Just adding that my regulator/rectifier from 4into1 which was shipped to me last year also had the wire colours inserted in the plug incorrectly. I pushed them out and reinserted to match the plug on the main loom side.
No instructions came with the regulator but looking at other suppliers information they all use the same wire colours so I assumed 4into1 supplier just plugged them wrong.
Ha, now I am rechecking on AD,s link !

Thank you - this is exactly the response I was looking for!

Tried to email 4into1 but I don’t think he even read my message. I just received an email back with the same link AD found.

Yes, unfortunately we've learned in the last few months that their customer service is apparently not what it once was. At least their prices are still decent for most things, hopefully what anyone would buy would be properly functional and simple enough to not need any clarification.

.................and he has at least 12 years of CB360 experience (plus changed the race pistons he bought to Suzuki GS850 to make a nicer road bike)
In my experience he's a great guy
