Got the really cool stencils today. Thank you Cycleranger!!

Just need to decide if the silver Rustoleum engine paint will work, or if I should get some special vinyl spray paint.

When I did the later stencil on my 450 seat I used standard silver paint, but my seat doesn't flex much at all. I'm thinking yours might need something that will stay flexible, unless the flat rear of it doesn't really get much movement when you're sitting on it.

You're welcome! Personally I'd use vinyl paint for best results.

I'll vote for vinyl paint, you're only going to get 1 shot at it.

It won't flex much, the transom on those seats is solid sheet steel with barely any padding. I went for the Duplicolor vinyl paint anyway.

I'm late to the show, but wanted to say this was an amazing tutorial.

I'm starting my first resto on a 65' CA77 and the chrome trim peice around the seat is shot; ones on eBay are over $100. Is there a non OEM alternative I can use?

In post #16, there is a pic of a seat with Truck door edge trim. It's the only one I found that looked like it would work.

I used that same trim on the seat (and the tank) on my CB550. Turned out ok.
