I have 2 CB200’s and a CL200. Needless to say… I’m a fan of these bullet proof little bikes!
However, space is of a premium, so I’ve reluctantly decided to sell (Rupert) my Gold CB200.
[see Reg: RBM "Rupert Bear's Motorcycle" ...blame my daughter !]
It’s in honest oily-rag condition, remember... 'Rupert' turns 50 in November! but positively has:
- · ELECTRIC START ! (1976 the Japanese were way ahead of the game, back in the day !)
- · New Tyres Front & Back (plus new Inner-tubes)
- · New Brake Pads Front & Back
- · Fresh Engine Oil
- · Twin Carbs, stripped down and ultrasonic cleaned.
- · Original Exhausts on both sides (apparently this is a valuable asset)
- · Relatively recent Battery (2025)
- · Not a rusty ‘Barn Find’ or an unregistered USA import !
- · V5C Log Book in my name and demonstrates it’s an original model for the UK
- · 14,829 miles (Average less than 300 miles per year ! that's got to represent 'Low Mileage')
- · Low Insurance premiums, Tax & MoT Exempt
Plus the usual annual maintenance services such as chain being degreased, cleaned, re-greased, throttle, brake and clutch cables being cleaned, oiled and adjusted, Front disk calliper stripped, cleaned, greased. Air filters cleaned etc etc.
Although, as an Historic Vehicle, it is Tax & MoT Exempt, I did elect get an MoT (Pass) last year just for my own confidence.
Negatives:
- · The previous owner removed the back-up kick-start with an angle grinder in order to fit sweeping racing exhausts. Fortunately he still had the original exhausts which I subsequently reinstalled (the buyer is welcome to the sweeping racing ones if they want them!). I have purchased a replacement kick-start and kick starter spindle (which I’ll gift to the buyer if the eventual sale price exceeds £2,100). However, in all the time I have owned CB200's... I have never found a need to use a kick-start (needless to say... neither did the previous owner!).
- · It has the expected patina of a pre-loved 50 year old bike and, as such, is not a concourse show stopper but, I guess, it does has the capacity to be, so if that is your interest and you are looking for a reliable project to work on whilst enjoying it at the same time, you will not be disappointed, if this were to become your projects start point.
- · Just noticed, from the video, that the ‘Neutral’ light bulb, located in the Rev Counter, needs replacing.
Viewing highly recommended.
Payment via PayPal or Bank Transfer prior to collection preferred.
As a member of the VJMC (Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club) I 'may' end the Auction early if an enquiry comes from the club's network. (I also recommend that the Buyer joins the VJMC as it is a valuable resource and a great community)
Happy to answer any questions. Best, Simon
