Hey gang, in need of a front brake cable assembly for my CM450E. Mine is seized and causing some major grief. (Or if anyone knows how to un seize them, in a unconventional manner all known efforts have been made) TIA

Did you check the part number and do a search for it?

Thank you so much. I did just order the one from 70 CL350, apparently they used the same one. As did many, but scouring the internet for lost little nuggets of information can be strenuous...
I may order this one also, you never know ...

I did search for the part number, I hadn't got around to cmsnl when I found the other one.
If you're like me (but few really are), you'd be exhausting every avenue possible before pulling the trigger since prices on parts for these old bikes can vary wildly, and though other similar cable can cross-reference it isn't always the right fit overall. And I must not have had my readers on when I posted that KK0 middle number listing, duh.

I found it on CMSNL, but it's only on the watch list.
I also have a local recycler looking for one also. Other than, I will have to "rebuild" the cable by cutting off the little lead disc on either end. Is there a kit for that? If no kit, does anyone have a shop to make one?

Yeah, that has fooled me more than a few times since they started doing it, sorry.

More than a few here have done some cable repairs, here's one:

So, a recap, I looked at a bunch of cables, ordered 3 and got one from a local scrap yard. Of the ones I ordered, the 82 XR200R is a good fit, but a little tight. It would have worked in a pinch but there was a little drag in the front. I got one from the local scrap, it worked, but I had to cut the end off the old one and reuse the larger of the nuts. It works, but actuall is a little long so the adjustments are half way. It works a charm though.
I just got the two cables I ordered from 4into1, the 1972 CL350 front brake cables. A long and a short. I have not sized them, and will report afterwards, but the wheel ends are an exact match for the CM450e brake cable.
So, if anyone is looking for that brake cable on a 1982 CM450E, the 1972 CL350 cable is a clear winner, and they are reproduced en masse. I will measure and verify but I am more than certain.
Short cable 4into1 part no. SP10-0002SH
Long cable 4into1 part no.: SP10-0002
Both are designated to fit: Honda MT/XL250 XL350, CB/CL350K/450k CL/CJ360

If anyone needs a cable for an XR200r, I have one for sale.

Because I swapped my handle bars for a lower, wider bar, either cable will work, ones a bit long, ones a bit short, as long as it goes through the hoop on the fender, it stays off the tyre.
