CG125 to get going

Thanks CB450DX, just saw your post.
Yes it’s Brazilian, it mentions that on the right hand side of engine.
Yes I cleaned the strainer too. ADDED - I forgot about the clutch side strainer!
Weirdly, the fuel tap size is different to any listed on CMSL.
Also weirdly, every model at CMSL does not show the weird side panel lugs.
I’ll post a picture tomorrow to show what I did, which also works perfectly.
Never thought I’d be using wooden lugs!
The petcock should be the same as any of these Brazilian models:
- Honda Cg 125 Turuna Ml (1983 till 1989)
- Honda Cg 125 Titan (1992 till 2004)

- Honda Cg 150 Titan (2005 till 2008)
- Honda Cg 125 Fan (2005 till 2008)

The OEM part number that shows on the parts catalog is this one:
16950-397-630

Some OEM part numbers I got for them (don't blindly trust them, these come from sellers):
16950-kre-900
16950-KRM-860CH

Here's the brazilian part catalog, by the way (although the site is in Portuguese from Portugal):

Well, after loads of bikes and loads of experience… this is the first bike I recall where the spark plug gap has a ginormous effect!

Struggled starting just now. Checked spark. It was there but weak. Gap looked okay. Checked the owners manual; strangely I had a copy! It said it should be .8 to .9mm it was around .3-ish.
Took it up to .8, produced a cracking Spark and started first kick!
Old dog, new……

Thanks CB450DX. That exploded diagram is the only one I’ve seen that has those detachable lugs for the side panels! None of those shown at CMSL.

I learned that with the 450 DX. All owner manuals and even factory service manuals I could find say the same thing: NGK D8EA gapped at .6 - When I got the bike, it had DP8EA-9 spark plugs which were literally painted black...
Consulted with some of the old folks at the brazilian CB 450 community... Learned that all models from August 1988 and forward use DP8EA-9 gapped at .9 (they also have a projected pole, pretty diferent plugs). - They got this info from physical manuals. One of the things that made me ultra mad was that when downloading the owner's manual from Honda itself, they themselves do not have the correct manuals. I downloaded the 1990 manual and it's the exact same from 1988, which uses a different spark plug...

I'm actually pretty jealous of that. My bike has one of the pins that attach the right side panel to the frame broken, if only they were detachable...

Parked my 450 right beside a ML 125 today, I'd say the engine patina is neck to neck with the one you worked on.

I couldn’t find a thick enough piece of plastic to mould into new lugs, as most thick plastic seems to be thin with strengthening pieces behind.
So, I made two out of wood! Yes they may eventually rot, but they are oak and work a treat.
