I found that on this bike I was too bunched up with the mid controls, so forward it is.I'm not a fan of forward controls as they put all your weight on your spine. I prefer a set of highway pegs so I can stretch my legs on long rides. My knees appreciate being able to go back and forth between mid and forward pegs.
I am looking for a day where I have some time to relocate the front signal lights to the lower triple tree.Nice, I like the dressed out look! Please give us a ride report when get it set up the way you want it.
I have shown the wrong lift, I checked and this is the one I purchased.I am looking for a day where I have some time to relocate the front signal lights to the lower triple tree.
I like them there, it will look better to me.
I adjusted the shocks to there stiffest position, the ride didn’t suffer much, and it gives me a bit more clearance for cornering.
this thing is low.
I purchased a scissor life that is only 3.5" tall when lowered and it works very well to lift the bike.

this is the lift I picked up

wow, that one is in beautiful shape!Nice Sportster! I have an old 1000cc Ironhead Sportster that’s a blast to ride. It’s a little more basic than yours, though…

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Still impressive and, actually, more believable!also, I might add...........
my mpg figures are based on that gallon to the north........

yup, for some reason, and one that I will never understand, we are in the same continent and still use different forms of measure.Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Still impressive and, actually, more believable!
Thanks! I have a little over 57,000 miles on it so far. Not the most comfortable bike I’ve ever owned, but fun to ride and it has had very few problems in all those miles. I think they were 1000cc from 1973-1985, which was the end of Ironhead production. BTW, mine regularly gets 60 to 61 mpg (US) on the highway. I geared it a little taller to make riding on the highway more pleasant, so I’d guess that helped the gas mileage a bit. I really wanted a Norton back in the late 1970s, but bought a used Triumph Tiger 750 instead. I think that cured me of Brit bikes…lol.wow, that one is in beautiful shape!
A friend of mine had one of those many years ago, it was a nice ride for sure.
quite a bit different from the Norton that I had at the time.
if I remember correctly, the 1000 was not made for many years?
