Well
@dougrun , I just bumped into this thread. Good try at 3D printing this side cover, it's sad it wasn't a easy success. That doesn't surprise me too much as I was thinking these side covers would be a challenging thing to print - so big, so many curves with no flat surfaces. It is slightly bigger than my ender 3 bed, so maybe standing tall might work. Printing it in a few pieces might be another. Trying to do the cad work to model this would take a large effort. The supports needed look like a pain. It probably take a day on my slow ender to print - that would probably bomb out 3/4th the way thru.
That got me thinking, maybe it could be farmed out to print. I guess the price would have to be affordable. You would need a model known to work or be printable. It is cool you can buy this model for $50, it would be interest to see how usable it is. Like does it come with raw mesh STL output file, or the design source file(like freecad file, or blender file). Even with those source files it's still way too challenging to operate these programs. I struggle with freecad, blender I open up, but really don't want to spend many hours learning how to use.

CL200 Left Side Panel (Exhaust Side) – Not Looking for Modern Art Made of Melted Plastic Dear Keepers of Honda Relics, I write to you from a draughty shed somewhere in the soggy English countryside, where I’ve been lovingly resuscitating a CB200 that was last on the road when flared jeans...

where someone is selling new build plastic side covers for a very reasonable price(like $35). I learned from the ebay link he was local to my area. Sent them an email asking a few things and offering my side covers if he had any interest in creating those. Just guessing they are 3D printed. Have not heard back from him.
We have
@esmith250624 getting creative with some plastic cases in this thread:
I removed the cap for the balance chain adjustment. The Good: looked like the full amount of travel was available on the adjuster... The Bad: As soon as I loosened the bolt it sprung all the way to the other end..... It was way out of adjustment, I still may need to remove the side cover...

My CM450 was lacking the right side cover, I got creative and used my CM400 to make a paper machi mold and created one from that using hot glue, bailing wire, etc. That came out OK, I should probably work on it's finish, but it was a ton of time and effort so can't be easily reproduced. That's what would be nice about 3D printing, hopefully it's all automatic and you wake up and have one the next morning.
Some posts of that that I located in my thread over here:
So I was browsing CL and this 82 CM450C caught my eye. Less than 12k odometer, $1200, says it runs great, just a few minor items like missing right cover, headlight doesn't work, missing one mirror. I've had only my 81 CM400T for over a decade, it's now 24K on it. So I'm thinking what they...

Someone else made one out of wood, he posted results on this forum, I don't have a link.
Maybe someday we will have easily 3D printed CM400/CM450 right(and left) side covers.
