Greetings from northwest NJ. I recently acquired a 1965 CA77 which will be getting some TLC during a full blown restoration project. At first glance, it appears to be fairly complete, with the exception of the side covers and what I think is supposed to be the air filter assembly. I did note that the tab on the left side of the frame that the gas tank bolts to has apparently been broken off but fabricating a new one and welding it on is within my capabilities. The tank has a dent in the top of it which I will be looking to have removed prior to repainting. I will be looking for a 'paintless dent repair' place to do that work. I have not yet started the tear-down as I have two other projects in the works- a 1975 CB500Four (almost completely done), and a 1976 CB360T which I just dropped all the painted parts for at the powder-coating place near me. When the CB360T is done, the CA77 will take over my lift table. As back-ground information - I am fully retired and a very avid motorcyclist. My current bike is a 2016 BMW K1600 GTL which I have somehow managed to rack up 84,000+ miles on! Wrenching and restoring is something that I really enjoy doing when I am not riding, and I have most of the tools that anyone could need for doing this type of work. I look forward to spending a lot of time in this forum and learning from the collective wisdom of the members. I will be requesting the applicable manuals and other reference materials from the library.

@armyguns, since you did your introduction back in February 2023, I moved this to the Projects and Builds section. This project thread will serve as the single location for all your repairs and any questions that come along as a result. Looking forward to seeing you get started.

I guess "1965 CA77" would do! I just sent you a PM with the 4 documents I would like to have to start my research with.

Since I'm doing the same project on a C78 (albeit slowly at times) I'll be following your progress with interest.
Boddy- It will be a couple months before I start the inspection/tear-down. Realistically not until the late fall, early winter. I have heat in my garage, but not AC, so jobs like this are perfect for the cooler weather. In the meantime, I will be reviewing the various manuals that are available to get familiar with how things are assembled on this machine. I was quite amused when I removed the seat the other day and discovered the spring suspension system! Looks the the bottom of an old couch or chair with the springs and clips. It is no wonder the seat is as heavy as it is!

Don't worry, many of us here are moving at a similar pace. I have a project that has been in the works for going on 7 years now... of course, this place has a lot to do with that.

I was successful at downloading the available manuals, but the site references a:

32 am|
C92 CA92 CB92 C95 CA95 Shop Manual 1959-1

that have information on the CA77 frame. Unfortunately, I was not able to locate that manual in the download link. It seems that the manual is listed under the Smaller Twins section but not in the 205/305 section.

I will probably get back to mine around the same time. In the meantime, there is a good project thread by member @ballbearian here. You will get lots of good info from it.

The reference to it is here, and a link to it is waiting in your PM inbox.

I'm wracking my brain, trying to imagine any crossover from Benly, CA95 to Dream, CA77 parts. Although many visual similarities, they are quite different. Care needed when used ebay Benly parts are often all called 'Dream' parts.

Also note the side covers for 65 are different than the 64 and earlier. Carb covers should mostly be all the same.

If I recall the ca77 manual was a little thin when it came to the front forks and the ca95 manual had better references.

They are different. The Dream has pressed in rubber bushes in the single hoop type arm but the Benlys have separate right and left arms with fiber and steel greased bushes.
