I've been getting a few reports of people unable to complete the registration.

They're getting stuck on the DOB part and it's saying they left the DOB blank and won't allow them to register. The DOB was filled out.

Don, I'm not sure what might have happened but I did have to send out a couple second confirmation emails today for those who didn't get them. There is no one in the awaiting moderation area right now, just checked. Just have them try again and I'll do what I did all day today, watch for them to show up in the queue and follow them along to the finish. Gotta take a break right now though, been at it for over 12 hours except for lunch and supper

I emailed Brent and Wayne (pemdoc) to ask that they try again and if it still doesn't go through, I can build their profiles for them and send them a temp password like I did for Bill. Gunnar, OTOH, PMed me at HT and openly mentioned VHT in the PM... I wish he'd been a little more vague, but I told him to email me and gave him my address, then "left" the conversation since you can't delete them. The whole time the Admin was logged in there, showed they were looking at "help"... maybe doing revisions or whatever

I'm confused. Are they filling out all of the forum fields properly or leaving them blank? Generally, an issue with the registration process is going to be global if it's a problem with the forum/software, and if it's only a few users, it ends up as browser or user-induced.

If I can replicate the issue, I might have a shot at fixing it. What browser and operating system are people who are having issues using?

OK there's definitely an issue with the registration process.

Even with every fields filled out it is still saying that they haven't filled out everything on the birth date page.

Seems to be affecting everyone I have sent to VHT so far.

Bottom line is yes it is confirmed the registration page is broken. and I think I know why.
Try this yourself. Open up your browser (Chrome) in incognito mode

1. go to http://vintagehondatwins.com and register
2. Fill out the month, day, and year and hit Proceed.
3. You will immediately get this

[h=2]vBulletin Message[/h]You have left a required field blank.

Chrome's developer console shows

This browser is AJAX compatible
register.php?do=checkdate:85 Mixed Content: The page at 'https://www.vintagehondatwins.com/forums/register.php?do=checkdate' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image 'http://vintagehondatwins.com/images/vht_header.jpg'. This content should also be served over HTTPS.
vbulletin-core.js?v=425:11 Firing System Init
vbulletin-core.js?v=425:11 Fire vB_XHTML_Ready
vbulletin-core.js?v=425:11 Fetch Cookie :: vbulletin_collapse (null)

So it looks like there is an image being referred to 'http://vintagehondatwins.com/images/vht_header.jpg' that cannot be accessed because it is non-secure (non SSL)

specifically

Sat 6th Sep '08, 6:56pmI had the same problem. I disabled ALL plugins and the error stopped. After trouble shooting disabling one by one, the culprit was this hack addon found at .org..

Stop the Registration Bots 1.0.3
Stops bots from registering by time check and random hidden fields on the forum rules and register form pages.

If we're using this addon then we should disable it also.
