Hello.

I have a reproduction decal set for my 1989 CD250U. Included in the set is a 7.5cm long (3inch) decal saying 'Honda Motor Co...LTD Made in Japan'. The Made in Japan is on the second line. It is white text on black background. My original manual does not show the location for this decal and the internet is not helping me. I don't recall if the frame had this decal before it got sandblasted a few months back. Is this decal actually on a CD250U or is it just some random decal in the set? The set came with no instructions. Any thoughts? And apologies if I'm posting in the wrong spot again...still new to this forum stuff. Cheers. Ken G

I don't know if it will be much help, but after looking at pretty much anywhere on the bike's bit for possible sticker locations, I found this. It seems to show where every sticker was originally located on the bike, hopefully you can figure out which is the one you're trying to find the location of

Thanks for that. The outline of that bike looks a bit more CB than CD (possibly stating the obvious) but, if it is not just me that can't find a home for it, this may point to the fact that my decal is rough. Having said that, I've had CB250's and never seen decal 10 (headlight - what is 1.5% supposed to mean I wonder?) so it is also possible that the decals were customized to the market where the bike was for sale, so there may be no simple answer to this? Or course taking photos of the frame before sandblasting might also have answered my question! A lesson for next time! I might place it opposite decal 2 and be damned. Thanks for the advice. Cheers. Ken

Just so you know, that pic above is from the UK '89 CD250U listings at CMSNL.

I've always liked the look of the CD250u, considered buying one at one point. I have a copy of the Honda worshop manual (pdf) if that is not already in the VHT library, happy to upload here.

Just looking at a few UK CD250u on Ebay, here's that 15% label.

I scoured the internet this morning for pictures of one, never got that view. Good catch, but the question of that sticker he mentioned is still a mystery.

Thanks guys. I've managed to score an original workshop manual so I'm good with that. My frame definitely didn't have the 15% sticker and I don't recall ever seeing one on a CD in Australia. It's possible this is just one of those odd regulatory requirements for different markets. The CD sold in the UK had a few variations not available in OZ and I've also never seen a blue one here either. I'm going to put the mystery decal on the frame and I'm going to guess no one will ever pick me up on it. Cheers. Ken

Hi Ken. I'm in NZ and have recently bought a CD250U that I'm going to re-paint. I was wondering where you got the decals from? Cheers.
