CB450K0 dealer setup, from the crate to pre-delivery prep

This group of pictures is one of many sets of setup instructions from a PDF put together by VHT member Blue2swing a few years ago. He scoured the internet and found many things not previously seen here, and for now has them at a website devoted to the Bomber - http://cb450k0.com/ - which he apparently plans to take down soon. I thought it would be interesting for many members who never had the pleasure of seeing a new Honda go from a crated, partly assembled shipment to a complete bike ready for the showroom. I have the full set of setup instructions as he found it, starting with the C100/102/105/110 models all the way up to the CB450K0 and I will add it to the Miscellaneous section of the FSM library.

I love setup instructions! Often they show stuff like proper cable routing that's just not in the shop manuals.

Yeah, I wish these pics were larger but this is still a treasure and there are so many more in the set which was probably from '65 or so. Certainly an interesting peek at what the dealers got to see from Honda. I know for a fact that many of those steps above were never done by the first dealer I worked for as I was never instructed to do some of them nor was I ever provided a copy of any setup guides for any of the bikes I assembled. I was shown how to get the crate open, put the parts on the bike, service the battery and install it, dump fresh oil into the engine, fuel in the tank and take it for a test ride, then it went right to the showroom floor.

I sort of wish all service manuals were written like that.

Thanks for posting this. I already have a digital copy and plan to use it as a checklist of sorts when doing my final assembly. Blue2swing tells me the site will be coming down on Feb 9 but there is so much great material that I would encourage anybody with an interest to head over there and check it out while you can.

I found the wiring pages to be very useful

Yes, and the Setup collection is added to the library now along with his copy of the owner's manual and wiring pages too.
