Interesting... sure hope he had already run that engine earlier than he showed in the video, or that was one horrendously bad warmup

Basically what I'm planning to do, when I get around to it. Except that I'm going to cheat and use a spare 175 frame as the basis for my stand, saves an awful lot of fabrication.

I don't think I would bother, it takes roughly the same time to stuff the engine in the frame as it would to mount it on an engine stand. Either way, you still have to connect carbs, exhaust and electrical to run the engine, I'm just lazy enough I don't want to do it twice. Also, there's no room left in My shop any more to store something I might only use once or twice.

I just don't want to swap an engine that I know works for one that may or may not work, and I have spare carbs, exhaust pipes and silencers.

If the test engine IS faulty, as I suspect, I can modify the frame / engine stand to be able to do a top end rebuild with the engine still bolted up.

Also my garage is full up, this is something that I can play with in the back garden ...
