Hi all,
I'm looking at replacing the wheels on my cb 400tii I'm rebuilding. My current wheels are the following size. Rear is a 1.85 x 18 and front is 1.85 x 19. I've found some wheels for sale on ebay off a CB 750L.
Here is the rear tire:

And the Front tire:

Anyone know if they will fit? It looks like the rear on the cb 750l is a 17x2.5 and the front is 19 x 1.85.
I'm thinking the rear might give me some issues with keeping the chain in line.
Thanks!

Pretty sure you're going to have more than just alignment issues, the 750 rear axle is most likely larger when you consider the significant difference in horsepower between the two bikes. Doesn't mean it couldn't be done but it won't be a bolt-on swap

That makes sense and I would rather go with a bolt on solution. I was being a bit lazy trying to get away without doing too much work refurbishing the wheels I have and, I really like the reverse comstar's.

Bikes are different than cars in that each model/size is built to more specific specs and generally most major components aren't interchangeable with other sized models. Not simpler like putting a different V8 engine in an older American muscle car, or swapping wheels with the same lug pattern. There might be the later version Comstars on other 400 models that will fit which you might find at a bike salvage yard. You can check out the different years and basic info about them in this thread (also part of your Welcome Package)

If you like the reverse Comstars then go with the 1980/81 CM 400 wheels. Yeah they're 16" but take a 120/90 tire so the sidewall makes up a lot of difference. That give you a wheel/tire combo that fits w/o any setup problems like chain alignment.

Thanks you both for your responses and the link to the Honda ID guide. I'll keep my eye out for the 1980/81 CM 400 wheels.
