Hi folks,

This is my first outing in the restoration / customization world. I have got myself a 1981 CB 400 N which I have posted about here : https://www.vintagehondatwins.com/forums/index.php?threads/3126

Regarding getting the bike up on a lift, I was thinking about one of these scissor lifts : https://www.amazon.com/OrionMotorTe...1&keywords=scissor+lift&qid=1620740954&sr=8-9

Will this work? I see the exhaust runs across width-wise between the two sides, so I will clearly have to clear that. How do you guys do it? Take the exhaust off?

I think you'll be happier with this type lift https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0732WP8D...&pd_rd_r=9f0a2c56-a160-41f3-8b1e-b450241105cf since it's hydraulic. Trying to lift a 400 pound bike with the small hand operated screw is going to be tough.
Because of the odd bottom contours you end up using a thick piece of plywood to cover both legs of the lift I posted, then use smaller dimension wood as spacers to keep the bike stabile and even on the lift.
Once it's up and the safety latch is engaged you can use straps to hold the bike so it won't fall or tip over.

Thanks - good steer - this lift isn't much more expensive here and I see it can, in theory, be moved around
