Honda wire color--- Purpose:

Solid RED ---- DC Positive from battery to main (key) switch, usually through the main fuse...Often connected @ the solenoid "bolt" terminal that is connected to battery positive (B+) by a short heavy gauge wire.

RED with WHITE stripe---- Re-charging (DC Positive) connection from Rectifier to B+...Often a combined ring terminal connection with the Red wire.

BLACK--- DC Positive when main switch is in an "ON" position...(Key Switch controlled battery positive)

BLACK with WHITE stripe----Power to coil(s) IF "kill" switch in run position....

Solid GREEN--- DC Negative (B-) connections ultimately to battery negative terminal either directly or through "chassis ground" heavy gauge wire... Green rectifier wire is the re-charging connection to battery negative (B-).

BROWN with WHITE stripe--- Lighting power (when light switch contacts are connected/lights are "ON"), powers meter illumination and tail-light BROWN wire through connection in the main (key) switch....

Solid medium BROWN--- Tail (running and Park) light filament in taillight bulb.... (also see above).....

GREEN with YELLOW stripe--- Brake switch(es) to brake light filament in taillight bulb....

YELLOW with RED stripe--- Start button to solenoid connection....

GREEN with RED stripe--- Neutral lamp grounding-side (B-) connection...AND in many 1975 and later bikes, part of the neutral-safety circuits preventing the solenoid from activating the starter motor unless in neutral or clutch disengaged (lever pulled to bars).....

Solid (Dark) BLUE--- Headlight High Beam.....

Solid WHITE----- Headlight Low Beam (dip)....NOTE: There is also a Solid WHITE wire from the alternator which has a differentiating YELLOW "tag" (stripe, small shrink tube ring, or paint stripe within its female connection clear shroud) once it enters the headlight shell.....CARE MUST be taken that this wire is NOT transposed with/to the WHITE headlight wires.....

Solid YELLOW--- Alternator primary AC output leg...Goes to Rectifier and regulator , and a connection to the parallel secondary solid WHITE (with Yellow tag) is made by the headlight switching...

Solid PINK--- Alternator primary (post 1967) AC output leg......Prior to 1968, this wire was a solid DARK BROWN wire....

Solid WHITE---- Alternator secondary (parallel to YELLOW) AC output leg.....Prior to 1968 this wire was a PINK wire......

Solid Gray--- Flasher module to directional switch for turn signals.....

Solid Baby BLUE--- Right side turn signal power after directional switch.....

Solid ORANGE--- Left side turn signal power after directional switch......

I'll add to update into the 1980's later......
