Stator cover bolt o rings

I replaced the bolts on my bike for hex bolts and along with the set were the o rings for the stator cover bolts. These little buggers want to go everywhere except flush around the bolt head. Any slight pressure and they squish out the side. Anyone else have this issue? How tight do these bolts need to be? I am not close to tightening them but these o rings are annoying.

I assume this is for your SL350K1, and I suppose it could be the o-rings are a bit too large but it could also be the use of hex bolts instead of the oval head (tapered) JIS screws that were intended to squeeze the o-rings into the cover below the tapered head. If you don't use the o-rings there will probably be oil seepage around the bolts.
