Looking to replace the chrome trim on my 1979 CM400A Headlight. I know this is a common part across many bikes, but I can't seem to track down a site with them in stock or a scrapped one that isn't totally bubble and crusty.

I believe it is:
RIM, HEADLIGHT
33101-413-671

If I can't find it maybe I'll replace the whole bucket over the winter which would make it easier to fit something a bit brighter in its place, but for now I'd like to keep things stock.

Thank you LDR, I'll keep my eyes peeled. Will be happy to have a couple extra lumens.

If you hit up a salvage yard for a 2001-07 CB250 Nighthawk headlight unit you'll have a stock bucket with a modern lens and a replaceable H4 bulb you can put a 55/60w bulb into. Charging system will handle it easily.
It's a special one (still available from Honda) 60W/55W. Hella also sells the bulb.

The problem is I have not been able to find an entire used assembly from those years easily at a reasonable price. Would be a great upgrade. The part is available on Partzilla at a ridiculous price, $173. HPN: 33100-MAA-A31.

I'm there with you. Up here in Maine bike salvage yards are few and far between and I am not seeing much online available.

if a 1980 will fit the same bike, pretty sure I have one. I will need to check when I get home.
That should be a fit and I would be hugely appreciative. There aren't many bike salvage yards up here in Maine to go part hunting at. I managed to tap out the dent enough that it'll fit in the headlight bucket, but I would prefer to just replace the whole chrome ring.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but do you still have this available? I'm looking to replace the whole assembly on my 1982 CM450C without buying individual parts making the price crazy!
OP was last here in January 1, 2024, hopefully he'll get a notification email.

If not, have you checked out the headlights available from one of our sponsors, @SpeedMotoCo? Their section of VHT is here

And their website
