Is this a commonly seen thing to see the slagging/flashing not properly removed all the way? See the pics of each individual slot. The last pic shows the most constricted.

Sadly, no it's not uncommon to see this type of thing. My oil feed slot for the pump was partially blocked on the CL. Attention to detail is what catches these things.
 
This reminds me to look at mine again, though I'm a little surprised by how bad the worst one is.
