CB/CL350 front brake stay bolts

I have run across a few front brakes with the wrong bolts were used. Honda specs the shorter bolt but not the longer one. Note the DSC03704.JPG

I have come across a few front brakes that were using the wrong bolts for the brake stay. Honda specs the length for the shorter bolt but not the 36mm. Note also the length of the non threaded section and that it is full diameter.
 
Some of the earlier steel lowers got ruined from using too long bolts and the tubes got pinched. Not sure if any of the 350's had that issue.
 
Most of what I have seen is a either a fully threaded fastener or one without the full diameter which allows the brake stay to move on the fastener or in the case of a full thread to cut into the stay.
